Man charged with murder weeks after Upstate woman shot in head

ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Abbeville County coroner said a homicide investigation was underway after a woman was found shot to death in the Antreville area on Nov. 8.

Coroner Ronnie Ashley said 31-year-old Christie Lynn Stutler was found dead at a residence. The cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head.

Ashley said foul play was suspected and both Abbeville County deputies and SLED were called to the scene to aid in the investigation

On Tuesday, the Abbeville County Sheriff's Office said 47-year-old Charles Tillman was arrested in connection with Stutler's death. He is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and obstructing justice.

Deputies said Tillman is being held at the Abbeville County Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.
