TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies and the coroner are investigating after two people were found dead in a Travelers Rest home Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies said they responded to a home on Little Texas Road around 2:40 p.m. to conduct a welfare check. When they entered the home, they found two adult male victims dead.

Investigators and the coroner were called to the scene.

After an initial investigation, the coroner said both men suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. After an autopsy on Thursday, their deaths were ruled a double homicide.

The victims were identified as 69-year-old Charles Rodgers and 50-year-old Charles Barnett. The coroner said Rodgers suffered a gunshot wound to the head and Barnett was shot in the pelvis.

"At this time the investigation is in its beginning stages and there are no suspects or further details to release," Master Deputy Ryan Flood said.

Investigators ask anyone with information regarding the deaths to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 864-23-CRIME.
