The dry stretch of weather continues as we continue day 33 without any rain at GSP, with even longer streaks for other areas. Cool, dry air will remain in place, with another blast of chilly temps arriving this weekend.
Sunny skies and a light breeze stick around for Thursday, reaching 69 in the Upstate and 63 in the mountains. These temperatures are just about normal for this time of year. Tonight, lows drop back into the 30s and 40s.
Friday, also Veteran's Day, will be warmer with highs getting to the mid-70s in the Upstate and upper 60s in the mountains under more sunshine. A cold front will move in Friday night, and that will significantly drop temperatures into the 50s for highs on Saturday!
Saturday night could be the first frost for the Upstate, and even a light freeze for some areas outside the mountains. The mountains will see temps fall below freezing, so Freeze Warnings may be issued for the higher elevations.
Extreme and severe drought conditions continue for most of our area, as GSP’s rain deficit for the year has climbed to nearly 11 inches.
