PIEDMONT, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers reported a structure fire in Greenville County Friday morning.

The call came in just before 8 a.m.

Troopers said the blaze occurred on SC Hwy 20 at Brown Road in Piedmont.

Assistant Chief Holbrook with the Gantt Fire Department said no one was injured in the fire and that the house appeared to be vacant.

The Greenville County Sheriff and Duke Energy were on scene assisting with the investigation.

A large power outage was also reported in Piedmont around 7:50 a.m. According to Duke Energy's outage map, 672 customers are affected at this time.

We are working to confirm if the structure fire is related to the power outage. Duke Energy estimates that power will be restored to the area by 11 a.m.

We have a crew en route to the scene for more details on this developing story.
