GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Traffic pattern changes will begin Monday along Woodruff Road in Greenville in an attempt to help manage traffic during the holiday shopping season, city officials said.

Beginning Monday, left turn movements will be restricted between Woodruff Industrial Lane and the I-85 interchange. These restrictions will remain in place throughout the holiday season.

Traffic management crews will also use electronic message boards and closely monitor key traffic signals, like the ones around Magnolia Park and The Shops at Greenridge, on Black Friday weekend.

Officials said traffic is lightest on Woodruff Road on weekday mornings between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and on Saturday mornings before 10 a.m. Traffic is heaviest on weekdays from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. into the evening hours.

Officials said drivers can minimize delays by planning trips during light traffic hours or to use alternate routes to destinations on Woodruff Road, including Roper Mountain Road, Carolina Point Parkway, Miller Road, Garlington Road, and the recently constructed Market Point Connector Road.
