Frozen desserts recalled for possible listeria-contaminated cookie dough

NEW YORK (FOX Carolina) -

Check your freezers frozen cookie dough lovers – the FDA has issued a voluntary recall for a certain brand of frozen desserts due to possible listeria contamination.

The Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae frozen desserts are being voluntarily recalled due to possible contamination from cookie dough supplier Aspen Hills Inc.

The issue was identified after the cookie dough used in the Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae frozen desserts tested positive for listeria. An investigation began immediately and the voluntary action is being taken as a precautionary measure.

The recall is for approximately 100,000 cases of the Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae frozen desserts. No other Weight Watchers Smart Ones products are included in this recall.

At this time, there have been no consumer reports of illness related to this issue.
