SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police are searching for two suspects after a man was shot during a home invasion late Monday night, according to investigative reports.

The home invasion happened just before 11:30 p.m. at an address on Vanderbilt Road.

Police arrived to find the victim on the front porch of a neighboring home on Raintree Drive with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man was taken to the hospital.

Police interviewed a woman who was asleep in the home, along with a child, when the home invasion occurred.

The woman told police she was awakened when she heard a door being kicked in and two men rushed into the bedroom, where she and the victim were sleeping.

One of the men was armed with a handgun.

The woman said the victim handed over a sum of cash and left the bedroom with the intruders when she heard a gunshot.

The suspects reportedly ran off on foot. One suspect was reportedly wearing a tan and white coat and the other was wearing all black.

Police said K-9s were called in and a perimeter was set-up but no suspects were identified, per the investigative report.
