GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

According to the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District, new fuel tanks are being installed at the GSP airport.

GSP said the new fuel farm is located closer to the airfield, making the fueling process more efficient and keeping fuel trucks off the public roads surrounding the airport.

They stated the GSP Airport District will assume the new fixed-based operator, which part of its duty is to supply fuel for the aircraft, Cerulean Aviation.

According to GSP, the 30,000 gallon tanks will replace the 20,000 gallon for a total capacity of 120,000 gallons of Commercial Aircraft fuel which decreases the number of days the tanks need to be refilled to 2 – 3 days.

They said that the new farms are positioned above ground instead of in ground, making them more environmentally friendly.

GSP affirmed the new farm will replace the one currently being operated by Air BP and Stevens Aviation.

They said the new Cerulean Aviation Fuel Farm is scheduled to open Dec. 15 and that this new fuel farm is just one more example of GSP’s efforts to provide outstanding customer service.
