Two Spartanburg Dist. 2 schools collect items for crews battling WNC wildfires

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two schools in Spartanburg County are serving as collection sites where the community can donate supplies to help the firefighters battling wildfires in Western North Carolina.

Hendrix Elementary and Chesnee Middle are collecting items that the Chesnee Community Fire Department will deliver to first responders, according to a school district spokesperson.

Items needed include:

  • Boot socks (wool or wool blend)
  • Individually wrapped snacks
  • Towel
  • Wash cloths
  • Baby wipes
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Gatorade
  • Bar soap or shower gel

All donations must be dropped off by Friday.
