UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Union County deputies said a gas station clerk was charged after she was caught taking lottery tickets and cashing them in on surveillance video.

Deputies said Tammy Pitt, 32, was charged with petit larceny.

Pitt was working at the Circle K gas station on Lockhart Highway in Monarch on Wednesday when the theft occurred, per investigative reports.

Deputies said Pitt took scratch-off lottery tickets off the roll, scanned them, and cashed the winning tickets.

The tickets were valued at $372 and Pitt reportedly cashed in tickets worth $500 of winning.

Pitt was arrested Thursday and may face additional charges, deputies said.
