BAT CAVE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory said a reward for up to $10,000 is being offered for information to arrests and convictions for anyone responsible for setting the wildfires in Western North Carolina.

The fires have burned 50,000 acres and many of the fires are believed to have been man-made.

"We are committed to doing all we can to support our firefighters, protect people and property, and find those who may be responsible for any wildfires in North Carolina," McCrory stated. "Firefighters are making progress but the job is not over. I especially want to thank the volunteers serving as firefighters and those helping to feed, house and support firefighters in communities throughout our state."

McCrory said the Party Rock fire burning near Lake Lure was the highest priority for firefighters. That fire had burned more than 6,000 acres as of Friday.
