ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team held a full-scale search and rescue drill on Saturday.

The exercise involved law enforcement, fire services and EMS. Members of the Volunteer Mounted Search and Rescue were also among the attendees.

During the drill, teams responded to the location given and had to perform all tasks necessary for a successful search and rescue. In order to make it as real as possible, there were planned live ‘victims’ waiting to be found.

The exercise tests the groups’ ability to establish a command center on-site for responder/volunteer accountability, resource management, search and rescue, medical operations, team organization, scene psychology, multi-agency collaboration and more.
