ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Dispatch confirms that six units from the Anderson City Fire Department are on scene of a house fire on Saturday.

The call came in at about 2:30 p.m. It took crews about one and a half hours to extinguish the flames.

The fire  occurred on the 200 block of Lancaster Drive. The second floor and attic of a residence on that block were completely wiped out, officials said.

An elderly male lived at the residence and was alerted to the fire by a smoke detector.

A fire fighter suffered heat exhaustion, but is okay.

The cause of the fire is still to be determined.
