PUMPKINTOWN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

South Carolina Forestry Commission crews said the fire on Pinnacle Mountain grew to 6,000 acres Monday morning. It also remained at 35% contained.

However, evacuations were lifted from the Eastern portion of Pickens.

During the crews' stay, they've been taken care of by the locals. Tammy Another owns a restaurant in Pickens.

Her team has spent about 18 hours every day since the fire began feeding the firefighters.

"They're very appreciative of everything single thing we've done, but we're more appreciative of what they do for us," explained Anthony, "Protecting our homes, our fields and basically our lives."

Crews will pick up where they left off Tuesday morning. With help from 2 new hand crews and 2 helicopters on standby.
