BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Students and teachers at Hendrix Elementary in Boiling Springs gave School Resource Officer and longtime Spartanburg County Deputy Ronnie Horn a big sendoff on Monday.

The entire school lined the hallways to cheer for and hug the lawman after he announced his retirement, according to Spartanburg County School District Two.

The school district posted video of the sweet sendoff of Facebook.

The post accompanying the video read:

“After spending 8 of his 28 years in law enforcement keeping kids in our schools safe and making them smile everyday with his positive attitude, students and staff at #HendrixElementary weren't about to let Spartanburg County Deputy Ronnie Horn just walk out the door when he announced his retirement! Thank you for your service Sir!”
