PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Pinnacle Mountain Fire grew Wednesday to roughly 7,300 acres. The fire is now threatening to cross over to North Carolina in Transylvania County.

Crews are on standby in the Transylvania County in case it does continue to spread. However, containment is now at 40% which is an increase from Tuesday evening.

According to South Carolina Forestry Commission crews, they will continue to back burn and create fire breaks. As well as use hand crews and dozers on the ground.

The fire has now go on for nearly two weeks and during that time crews have received numerous donations while they’ve stayed at the Wesleyan Camp at Table Rock. They now need stocking caps, hand warmers, zip lock bags and cleaning supplies.

A GoFundMe account has been set up here.
