ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County coroner said Saturday evening that he was en route to a victim's home following a deadly crash.

Troopers said the incident happened around 6:16 p.m.

Injuries were initially reported in the crash on Anderson Road at SC Hwy 81, and according to troopers, the roadway was blocked at one point due to the crash.

Anderson County coroner Charlie Boseman said that 50-year-old John Jeffrey Abbot of Tall Oak Circle in Piedmont was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS. His cause of death was ruled as multiple blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

According to Boseman, Abbot was on a bicycle when he was rear-ended by a vehicle.
