Deputies: Asheville man arrested after connected to several area robberies

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office say they have arrested a man connected to several robberies Saturday night.

According to the report, 46-year-old Robert Eugene Hubbard of Asheville, was arrested on two counts of common law robbery from the Asheville Police Department along with one count of common law robbery from the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.

Hubbard’s arrest comes after recent robberies at the following locations, the report said:

  • Jordan’s Hotspot located on Sweeten Creek Road
  • Mountain Energy located on Smokey Park Highway
  • Fast Break located on Emma Road

He was taken into custody without incident from a traffic stop at New Leicester Highway and Newfound Road.

Hubbard is currently in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $100,000 bond, the report said.
