GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A funeral procession took place on Sunday to transport a fallen US Marshal from Georgia to North Carolina.

Fire trucks, police cars and plenty of American flags lined overpasses on I85 S as the procession transferred deceased US Deputy Marshal Commander Patrick Carothers to his home.

Law enforcement and firefighters were on overpasses and on exit ramps with their emergency lights flashing to show support for the fallen Deputy Commander and his family as they traveled through the Upstate to their North Carolina destination.

The 53-year-old Marshal was shot and killed on Nov 18 while serving a warrant in southeast Georgia.
