PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Table Rock State Park is scheduled to reopen Tuesday as crews continue to gain control of the Pinnacle Mountain wildfire, with some much needed help from the rain.

The fire is now 57% contained and has burned roughly 10,100 acres. Investigators said humans are to blame for the fire, which has been burning since Nov. 9.

Terry Lebo is an incident meteorologist with the National Weather Service.  Lebo said the 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected to hit the area and should help firefighters through the week

"It's kind of the natural cycle of things," explained Lebo, "You go through periods where it's very dry and go through periods where it's very wet."

Kayli Yardley with the U.S. Forest Service said the break in weather would allow crews to fortify fire breaks around Buzzard Mountain.

At Table Rock State Park, all facilities and roads will reopen Tuesday but several trails will remain closed. The Carrick Creek Trail, the Table Rock Trail, the Pinnacle Mountain Trail and the Foothills trail portion that is located on Table Rock will remain closed. The trail to the Carrick Creek Falls overlook will be open, as will the Pinnacle Lake Trail. Call the state park at 864-878-9813 for more information.
