Report: NC man taken into custody after reports of stabbing at residence in Buncombe Co.

WEAVERVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A North Carolina man has been taken into custody after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon in Buncombe County on Tuesday, reports state.

Deputies with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a call for service referencing a stabbing at a residence located on Cody Lane in Weaverville. When they arrived they noticed an incident had occurred between two non-intimate partner family members. One of them was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.

Terry Len Gentry Jr., 22 of Weaverville, was taken into custody without incident for his connection to the incident, deputies said. They said they wanted to speak to him about his involvement in the assault.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

At this time, there is no word on the victim's injuries.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, with no public safety concern to the community at-large.
