SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate radio personality is among those left shaken after severe storms rolled through Simpsonville on Wednesday.

Chris Lee works with Magic 98.9 and Classic Rock 101.1. He said he was home Wednesday evening when what appeared to be a tornado, rolled through his neighborhood.

Lee lives just off West Georgia Road on Willow Lane.  He said the storm “literally sounded like a train.”

His photos tell the story of the devastation. Trees were left shredded and mobile homes heavily damaged.  Lee said the storm missed his house by fifty feet, so he went to check on his neighbors.

“I went door to door just after it happened," said Lee. "Police came within a few minutes and searched as well. No one was hurt that we found.”

Within minutes of sharing his story on social media, well wishes poured in for Lee and his neighbors.

“This is unbelievable,” he said.
