GATLINBURG, TN (FOX Carolina) -

A candid photo of Tennessee firefighters getting a few minutes of much needed rest between lengthy stints battling the Gatlinburg area wildfires is touching hearts across the World Wide Web.

Firefighter Adam Scott Momberger posted the photo on Facebook Tuesday.

He wrote that lying on the ground in the shade of a fire truck was the closest he and his colleagues had got to sleep in 36 hours.

Momberger's photo has garnered more than 27,000 shares and 10,000 reactions from people across the country.

More than 280 people are battling the Tennessee wildfires, which, as of Thursday, had scorched more than 15,000 acres and were 10 percent contained.
