NWS survey teams have found damage indicating that an EF1 tornado ripped through areas near west Georgia Rd in Simpsonville. Damage was consistent with winds at 110 mph.
The tornado occurred at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday night. The National Weather Service found a path of damage consistent with a tornado and not straight-line winds. The path was 150 yards wide. The path length was 7.5 miles
There were no deaths or injuries from the storm. Damage was all in Simpsonville off West Georgia Rd. Roofing materials were ripped off homes, trees uprooted, and exterior walls and doors were moved.
