Clear Creek fire 100 percent contained after burning 3,163 acres

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

McDowell County Emergency Management officials announced Thursday that one of many wildfires burning North Carolina had finally been contained after burning for nearly eleven days.

The Clear Creek fire began on November 20 in McDowell County, and as of Thursday around 5:30 p.m., officials said it had burned a total of 3,163 acres.

McDowell County EMS officials said the fire is now 100 percent contained.

Burning bans remain in effect for the McDowell County area.

The agency released the following statement on the success of operations at the Clear Creek fire:
