Warm Memorial Day Weekend, a few storms

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A very warm and humid weekend is ahead as we unofficially kick off summer!

This afternoon into this evening, scattered showers and storms are most probable to develop into western North Carolina after 6 PM. Some storms could be severe with damaging wind and hail. It remains to be seen if they can maintain intensity into the Upstate for the mid to late evening, so stay tuned!

A cluster of storms could show up overnight into early Sunday, but its intensity and exact position/placement remain a bit unclear. Stay tuned for the latest!

Sunday will be partly cloudy to start, then storms will fire up in the afternoon. Upstate chances are at 30% but the mountains have a 60% chance for rain. Once again, any storm that gets going could produce damaging wind and possibly hail.

Memorial Day will bring another round of afternoon and evening storms, but they won’t be everywhere! Just keep your eye to the sky and have a backup plan to anything you do outside.

The middle of the week brings generally drier weather, though a couple of showers are still possible through Wednesday.
