Fire Dept: Two transported to hospital after crash, car fire in Gaffney

GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials with the Cherokee Creek Fire Department said two people were taken to the hospital after a crash and car fire in Gaffney on Sunday.

Fire department officials said they got the call shortly before 5 p.m. about an overturned vehicle near the intersection of Old Post Road and Hyatt Street.

Officials said the Macedonia Fire Department was requested after first responders arrived and found the vehicle overturned and in a field, on fire.

Fire crews said both occupants of the vehicle were transported to area hospitals for treatment. One of the victims was airlifted by helicopter.
