United States Attorney Beth Drake said Monday that Iquill Wayne Morrison, 22, was sentenced in federal court to nine-and-a-half years in prison for robbing the Drug-Lo Pharmacy in Laurens at gunpoint in August 2016.

Morrison pled guilty on February 28 to armed robbery and for being in possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

During the 2016 crime, Morrison pointed the gun at employees, robbed the store of approximately $305, and then fled on foot.

Police arrested Morrison shortly after and said he confessed and showed them where he threw away the gun, a loaded .38 caliber revolver, after the crime.
