FAIR PLAY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County coroner confirmed he was called out to a deadly crash on I-85 North in Anderson County Monday morning.

The crash was reported near Exit 4 just after 11 a.m. according to the SC Highway Patrol website. The roadway was blocked while troopers and first responders investigated the crash.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said two fatalities were reported in the crash.

Troopers said a vehicle struck a tractor trailer from behind, killing two occupants of the vehicle. A teenage passenger in the vehicle behind the tractor trailer was transported to the hospital with injuries, troopers said.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

The coroner later identified the deceased as 46-year-old Austin Wayne Brown and 49-year-old Jennifer Ann Brown, both from Bainbridge, Georgia. Austin was the driver in the collision and Ann, his wife, was the passenger in the vehicle.

The family was on the way to Mount Airy for a family vacation and then to Washington D.C., the coroner said.
