Unofficial results released in mayor, town council races in Duncan

DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Residents in the town of Duncan voted on a mayor and two councilpersons Tuesday during the municipal election.

Candidates for mayor included incumbent Lisa Scott and Clyde "Rog" Rogers.

Here are the unofficial results from the race:

  • Scott - 70
  • Rogers - 139
  • Write- in - 1

Candidates running for town council were Shirley Center Clopton, Susan Haymon, Charles Hornack, Kevin Land, Greg Rensberger, Jason Shuler, Raymond Wilkins.

Here are the unofficial results from the race:

  • Clopton - 73
  • Haymon - 53
  • Hornack - 87
  • Land - 36
  • Rensberger - 58
  • Shuler - 50
  • Wilkins - 22
  • Write-in - 0

A run-off election for the two council seats will be held. This will occur only after a provisional ballot hearing on Thursday, and the results are certified, then those candidates will be selected for the run-off.

All registered voters who reside in the town limits of Duncan were able to vote in the election. The following precincts are involved:  Lyman Town Hall, Beech Springs Intermediate School, Startex Fire Station, and Duncan United Methodist Church.

Polls opend at 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m.
