GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Storms in the Upstate are causing headaches for residents with power outages and downed trees affecting several counties.

Duke Energy reported an outage affecting more than one thousand customers on Tuesday in Greenville County.

The outage was first reported in the area of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Rutherford Road around 3:15 p.m.

Duke Energy crews are en route to assess the damage.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a traffic light out at Wade Hampton and Rutherford at the time of the outage.

The storm damage also includes downed trees and power lines near Pinewood Drive near Wren High School, per dispatch.
