Mighty Moo Festival back for Father’s Day Weekend

Posted: Updated:

The Mighty Moo festival returns for a four-day event in Cowpens starting Wednesday.

The 40th annual festival honors and reunites crew members of the USS Cowpens Missile Cruiser CG63, which served in WWII and is currently serving in the Navy. The battleship is nicknamed “The Mighty Moo,” festival organizers said.

The Mighty Moo Festival and Reunion is held each Father’s Day weekend in Veterans Park, located on Palmetto Street.

Gospel Singing at the Cowpens First Baptist Church will kick off the festivities Wednesday night.

The Cowpens Historical Depot and Museum will be open Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Food vendors and carnival rides will then open at 5 p.m. Thursday, followed by the Miss Cowpens Beauty Pageant and Music in the Park at 7 p.m.

The Might Moo Festival continues through Saturday with a list of events each day.
