Pickens Co. Schools opening doors to kids for free summer meals

PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

This summer schools in Pickens County will open their cafeteria doors to help feed kids who need breakfast and lunch.

The South Carolina Department of Education started the South Carolina Summer Food Program for all kids 18 years old and younger, as well as for 19 year olds with development disabilities.

The program will allow children to enjoy breakfast and/or lunch at hundreds of schools and other areas throughout South Carolina during the week.

Summer meal sites will be located in schools, churches, recreation centers, and many other facilities that meet the eligibility criteria.
