Deputies: Suspect arrested with gun, cocaine after Greenville Co. chase

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a vehicle pursuit ended in a crash in Greenville County on Thursday.

According to Sgt. Ryan Flood, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver fled, initiating a chase around 12:30 p.m. Deputies said the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Lemauveil Demarcus Styles, flashed a handgun when he tried to flee.

Flood said the chase ended when Styles crashed near Tremont Avenue and Wrigley Street.

The deputy involved in the chase was not injured.

Styles was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

He suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Greenville County Detention Center.
