ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Debra Sheridan was in court on Friday for a probation violation charge stemming from a deadly shooting at her Easley property in January.

On Jan. 21, Anderson County deputies said Jerry Sanders was shot and killed on Sheridan’s property on Hamlin Road in Easley.

Sheridan admitted to shooting Sanders but no charges have been filed in his death. Sheridan was charged with violating probation after an animal neglect case, which prohibited her from owning a firearm while on probation.

Sheridan first made Upstate headlines in 2014 when Anderson County deputies seized more than 100 animals from her property.

During the hearing, the judge ordered Sheridan to undergo bi-weekly drug testing and scheduled another court date in September to allow Sheridan to undergo surgery and recover before pushing forward with the probation violation charge.
