The Greenville County coroner confirms a pedestrian was fatally struck on White Horse Road overnight Friday.

The call came in at 12:15 a.m. along the 1700 block of White Horse Road.

Our FOX Carolina crew at the scene said two lanes were blocked as of 1:05 a.m. due to the wreck.

Deputies and EMS responded to the incident, and our photographer on scene reported seeing a body in the road with a white sheet over it.

The coroner said a pedestrian was crossing the road when he fell in the road and was struck by a Chevy Trailblazer, causing severe multi body trauma. He was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver in the Chevy did stop on scene. The driver was not injured.

On Sunday, the coroner confirmed that Stephen Ray Brown, 66, succumbed to his injuries at the scene after being struck along White Horse Road. His cause of death was listed as multiple blunt force trauma and his manner of death an accident.
