SLED: Former Cherokee Co. deputy charged in 2016 domestic violence case

GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

SLED has arrested a former Cherokee County deputy on a domestic violence charge, according to a news release from the State Law Enforcement Division.

SLED said Steven H. Moore was arrested on Friday for the 2016 incident and charged with domestic violence third degree.

SLED said they began investigating after receiving a request from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Warrants state that between Nov. 20 and Dec. 4, 2016 Moore caused physical harm or injury to his wife.

If convicted, Moore could face up to 90 days in prison and a fine up to $2,500.
