Myrtle Beach police were called to N. Ocean Blvd. early Sunday morning. Lt. Joey Crosby said officers were responding to reports of a large crowd causing a commotion.

A Kershaw County man captured it all on Facebook live from the balcony of his hotel.

"Here come the police!" said Bubba Hinson, who narrated the video as the scene unfolded in front of his hotel.

"There was a large group of people in the street and they were dancing and chanting. They were holding up the strip and causing the traffic to backup," said Hinson.

Hinson said the scene quickly took a turn for the worse when a man began firing into the crowd.

"I was just in disbelief. When the first gunshot rang out none of us could move. We were just frozen still," said Hinson.

Six people were shot, including a security guard, who returned fire on the gunman.

"Multiple people down! If you're watching this, stay away!" said Hinson as he narrated the live video.

The video shows the suspect carjack a nearby car then flee the scene.

"I saw two people get out and I noticed him getting in and casually driving off," said Hinson.

According to Myrtle Beach Police, the gunman was caught later that day.

The suspect was later caught and is currently in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds. Warrants will be released as soon as the suspect is released from the hospital.
