GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to abusing and neglecting her brother, who deputies found dead after being beaten, burned and severely emaciated in 2015.

Kendra Mobley, 26, gave up the right to a jury trial and pleaded guilty to exploitation of a vulnerable adult and abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult in a Greenville County courtroom during a hearing Tuesday.

The judge sentenced Mobley, a mother of three, to 28 years in prison.

Investigators said they found 30-year-old victim’s body inside a home on Old Easley Bridge Road on Oct. 5, 2015.

Prosecutors said the victim suffered a rare illness and deformity that stunted his growth. He weighed just 51 pounds when his body was found drowned in the shower. Investigators said scalding water had been poured over him that did not come from the shower. The body also had numerous bruises and scars.

Mobley’s then boyfriend, Jamario Green, was also arrested in the case and charged with abuse or neglect resulting in death. Attorneys said during Tuesday’s hearing that Green was sentenced to nine years in prison for the crime. According to the SC Department of Corrections, that sentence began on Dec. 25, 2016.
