ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two Upstate brothers who co-own a pair of Domino's Pizza restaurants are helping to support a family who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On June 1, Anderson County Deputy Devin Hodges was killed in a marine training accident on Lake Hartwell. Hodges is survived by a wife and four children.

When Matt and Patrick Smith heard about the tragic news, they decided to turn their pizza profits into support for Hodges' family.

On June 13, the Smith brothers said 100 percent of profits collected between 5 to 8 p.m. at the Domino's locations on Highway 24 and Main Street would be collected for the fallen deputy's family.

On Wednesday, the brothers said they raised $8,000 and hand-delivered it to Hodges' wife. Much of the money came from support from local firefighters and fire stations.

"When something like this happens, I feel like the community should give back and come together and support Mr. Hodges and his family," Matt Smith said. "Something like this really hits home and it could happen to anybody."

The Smith brothers thanked the community for their outpouring of support.
