GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two children were injured in a boating accident on Lake Greenwood on Friday, per the Department of Natural Resources.

A DNR official confirmed, two kids were riding on a flotation device being pulled on a boat when the boat pulled too close to the dock and the children hit the dock.

Both children were injured in the incident and taken to the hospital.

The driver of the boat was charged with negligent operation of a boat, the official said.

On Wednesday, DNR officials said one of the girls injured in the accident had been released from Greenville Memorial, and that another child was still there, with non-life threatening injuries.
