Floyd Pepper isn't letting anything stop him from marrying the love of his life.

Pepper is in Hospice care since suffering a stroke in January.

"We're lucky that he's even alive today," said Francy Pepper, his new bride. "He came so close to death that there were several times the doctors didn't give us any hope whatsoever of recover."

After 25 years together, Floyd and Francy Pepper tied the knot on Sunday at a barn wedding in Easley.

Floyd Pepper held his bride's had from a wheelchair during their nuptials.

Pepper's son, James Pepper, said the wedding day was a miracle for his dad.

"He's a doer," James Pepper said. "He's always outside, so for him it's got to be great to get out here and pet the horses and the fact that he's here at all is amazing."

Hospice nurse Jamie Hester said pepper wanted the wedding at the bar to see his horse, Star, one last time.

"It's just been a day of lots of joy for him and a day I don't think he'll forget," Hester said.

In addition to his bride and his horse, Floyd Pepper celebrated the day with the Clemson Tiger.

"I found out he was a Clemson fan so I thought, if we're going to do it, might as well do it big," Hester said.

The Hospice team planned the ceremony with just a couple weeks to make it happen. Flowers and cake for the event were donated.

Francy Pepper said life is short and no matter how many days are lift with her new husband, she'll cherish his strength and determination.

"I couldn't imagine my life without him," Francy Pepper said. "I couldn't imagine waking up and him not being there."
