SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office said a fatal accident occurred on Tuesday morning.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger confirmed the collision occurred on East Main Street near Walmart in Spartanburg city limits around 10:55 a.m. It was a two-vehicle crash with one victim killed.

Spartanburg Police determined that a Mercury Sedan was leaving a private property exit when it collided with a Chevrolet SUV that was traveling East on Main Street. After the initial collision, the Chevrolet SUV then crossed the two westbound lanes and struck a tree, police continued.

The coroner later identified the victim as Cathy Elaine McAbee, 60 of Converse. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Offices say the two passengers in McAbee's vehicle, along with the driver of the other vehicle, were transported to Spartanburg Regional for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
