Police: Upstate woman arrested, charged with attempted murder following domestic incident

GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate woman is behind bars following a violent domestic dispute in Greenwood Tuesday morning.

The Greenwood Police Department arrested Sharon Oggenfuss, 50 of Greenwood, and charged her with attempted murder.

Officers say they responded to a home on Edgefield Street around 1:25 a.m. after receiving a call that a male subject had been stabbed.

When they arrived on scene they found a man on the porch holding a towel over his chest, which was bloody, they said.

A witness told deputies that Oggenfuss and the male subject were arguing inside a bedroom when Oggenfuss swiped at the male with a knife and stabbed him in the right side of his chest under his arm.

Deputies spoke with Oggenfuss who confirmed that she got the knife to scare the male victim and that he never hot physical with her. She claimed the stabbing was accidental.

Officers were able to recover the knife that was allegedly used in the incident.

The victim was taken to Self Regional Healthcare for treatment. He was listed in stable condition.
