July Fourth celebrations in the Carolinas

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Looking for a place to watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July? Here's where events are being held to celebrate Independence Day across the Upstate and western North Carolina.

Greenville County

  • Simpsonville Celebration - Heritage Park Amphitheater
    July 1 at 7 p.m., gates open at 6 p.m. Free performance featuring The Oak Ridge Boys with fireworks to follow.
  • Red, White & Blue Festival - South Main Street, Downtown Greenville
    July 4 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fireworks launch at 9:45 p.m., best view is Main Street between Court and Falls Park Drive. Shuttle parking is available at County Square on University Ridge.
  • Clearview Fireworks Spectacular - Clearview Baptist Church in Travelers Rest
    July 4 - Event starts at 6:30 p.m. with free hot dog plates, popcorn, cotton candy and inflatables. Fireworks at dark.
  • Slater-Marietta Moon Boom - July 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 205 Bates Bridge Road, Marietta. The event features food, live entertainment, "cow patty" bingo, and fireworks.

Spartanburg County

  • Red, White & Boom - Barnet Park, Downtown Spartanburg
    July 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m. General admission $5
  • Cowpens Celebration of Freedom - Cowpens National Battlefield
    July 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Includes family activities, guided battle walks, music, cannon firing demonstrations and more.
  • Salute to America Block Party and Fireworks Show - Holly Springs Fire Department, 3301 Highway 357, Inman
    July 4 from noon to 12 a.m. Features live music, inflatable amusements, beauty pageants, model airplane show, fireworks, and more.

Anderson County

Pickens County

  • Celebrate America Festival in Easley - Old Market Square
    July 4 - Flashbacks perform at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
  • Fourth of July Celebration - Pickens Amphitheater, downtown Pickens
    July 4 - Music by the Jake Bartley Band at 7 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m.
  • Love My Liberty Independence Day Celebration - Old Liberty High School Stadium
    July 4 from 6 p.m.until dark, free admission. Live music by Carolina Highway Band, Emma KAPP Children's Bike Parade, free food and giveaways, fireworks at dark.
  • ClemsonFest 2017 - Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center
    July 3 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Music from the Carolina Coast Band followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Oconee County

  • Seneca Celebration - Gignilliant Field
    July 4 - Starts at 6 p.m. followed by fireworks shortly after dark

Greenwood County

  • Independence Day Celebration - Ninety Six Town Park
    June 29 to July 1 - Fireworks on Saturday at 9:45 p.m.
  • Lights on the Lake - Fellowship Camp & Conference Center
    July 1 - Registration required if attending by land. Gates open at 5 p.m., Music at 6 p.m. by The Jake Bartley Band, fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Newberry County

  • Postponed until Saturday: Newberry County Law Enforcement Officer Association's Fourth of July Celebration - Mike Ware Field, Newberry High School. Inflatables, music and food. Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks begin around 9 p.m.

Union County

  • West Springs Parade - West Springs Ballfield
    July 1 - Parade at 11 a.m., lunch at noon, band and fireworks at 6 p.m. Bring a chair.
  • Light Up the Lake - Veterans Memorial Park
    July 4 - Starts at 2 p.m. Food and live band, followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

Cherokee County

Abbeville County

  • Freedom Blast - Blue Hole Recreation Center at Calhoun Falls
    July 1 - From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., inflatable water slide, live music, and food with fireworks to follow. 

Laurens County

  • Riverfront Freedom Festival - Little River Amphitheater
    July 3 - Starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by fireworks just after dusk

Henderson County

  • Music on Main Street Special Fireworks Celebration Concert - Hendersonville Visitor's Center on South Main Street
    July 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. West Sound will perform.
