Police: Two charged after pregnant woman mows down purse-snatcher with SUV

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said two people have been charged in a bizarre incident at an Asheville Walmart parking lot on Wednesday.

According to police, the incident happened at the Walmart on Bleachery Boulevard.

Police said Robert Edward Raines had stolen Christine Marie Braswell's purse. Police said Braswell then chased Raines down with her SUV and struck him the parking lot of the store.

Police also said Braswell is pregnant.

Braswell was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the detention center following the incident. Raines remains in the hospital being treated for his injuries at this time, but will be charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and damage to property.
