In an ever-evolving world, sometimes we have to ask, "Are we sharing too much?"

Some tech experts said yes, specifically talking about the new settings on the Snapchat app. Law enforcement across the country has warned parents about the new interactive map that shows your Snapchat friends where exactly you are, down to the street address.

It's called Snap Map.

"It's a map inside the app that basically says this is where you are, this is where you took the picture at, this is where the picture was taken from," Deverne Werne said.

Snapchat is calling this new Snap Map interactive an easy way to meet up with friends, allowing everyone to see on a map where you are in the world and what you're up to.

"It gets down to so many feet as to where you're at," said Werne. "I mean down to the street level. I mean it's dead on."

Tech experts asking when do these apps cross the line of sharing, to simply "TMI," too much information.

"Sharing pictures and personal information, you can give out the information to the wrong person. And it's so easy for us to do that now. Everything is out there for everyone," Werne explained.

The new Snap Map has privacy settings like "Ghost Mode" where supposedly no one can see your location, an option to show your location only to friends, and an option to show your location only to the the friends you select.

Experts at Liquid Technologies said there's more to this "Ghost Mode" setting than meets the eye. They say the only real way to protect yourself is go to your location services in your phone and press "Never" when using the app.

"If you turn off 'Ghost Mode,' but don't turn off location settings, that information is still likely being stored," said Werne.

Werne said it's important to educate your children as they are vulnerable to the apps around them.
