GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Saskatoon, a fine dining restaurant serving up steak, bison, kangaroo and more along Haywood Road, announced a major expansion on Thursday.

The restaurant's owner, Edmund Woo, is planning a $2.5 million, nine-acre development at the corner of Haywood and Halton Road. The new space is set to include an expanded restaurant, an event center and a larger kitchen which will feature prepared meals for the Paleo weight loss diet.

The 7,500-square foot development will bear a new logo and name: Saskatoon Lodge. It's expected to have a northwestern lodge aesthetic with gardens and water features.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday morning.

“This development in this space allowed us to better accommodate our corporate and wedding business, which is limited in our current location, and our event center positions us as a significant player in both spaces," Woo said. "We hope that it serves not only as a boon for the Haywood Road area and its continued development, but as a recommitment from a native Greenvillian to my home city.”
