Deputies: Jonesville man indicted on federal charges

JONESVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Union County deputies said Friday that a Jonesville man had been indicted on three federal charges.

Deputies said a grand jury found cause to indict Cornelius C. Crawford, 29, of being in possession of an illegally acquired firearm and ammunition on June 6, using a firearm for drug trafficking, and being in possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

If convicted, Crawford may face up to 20 years in federal prison.

“We are going to send a message to the drug dealers,” Sheriff David Taylor said of the indictment. “If you sell drugs and carry guns, you look for 20 years in Federal Prison.:

Federal agents took custody of Crawford Friday morning at the Union County Jail.
