GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office, the Union County Sheriff's Office and ICE Agents worked together to seize a large amount of drugs being transported from Georgia into the Upstate.

Union County narcotics agents said they received a tip the drugs would be coming up Interstate 85 in Anderson County toward Union County.

In the early morning hours on Thursday, officials from the agency said they spotted the target vehicle on I-85 in Greenville County. A Greenville County K-9 called to the scene alerted on the vehicle and deputies said they found nearly one pound of crystal methamphetamine and more than nine grams of a green plant material believed to be marijuana.

The value of the drugs was estimated at $80,000 and deputies said they were headed to the Carlisle area in Union County.

Deputies said 46-year-old Tallie DeWayne Avinger of Kinards and 44-year-old Terrell DeWayne Moore of Athens, Georgia were arrested in connection with the incident.

Avinger is charged with trafficking meth and possession of marijuana. Moore is charged with trafficking meth, possession of marijuana and violation of probation. Avinger was on bond at the time of his arrest, Union County sheriff David Taylor said.

The pair are currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.

“These two guys are some of the bigger dealers that have been selling drugs in our county," Taylor said. "We feel like this case will be adopted by the Federal Courts because of their prior criminal record."
